Give Someone A Hand

Small actions can make a big difference.

I'll be helping you today!

Get into volunteering

We are all #DoingOurBit to make Staffordshire a better place to live. Whether we are doing small things, like picking up litter to help keep our streets clean, or big things, like formal volunteering to help our local communities. There are loads of opportunities that can fit around your life.

If you want help finding volunteering opportunities, Support Staffordshire and Staffordshire’s Council of Voluntary Youth Service are two great organisations that can help you.

Find a volunteering opportunity

Anyone can volunteer, regardless of your age, abilities or job status.  Wherever your skills lie, whatever your ambitions are, we can help you find that perfect opportunity and support you on your volunteering journey. Often the most difficult part of volunteering is making the first move. You can find a volunteering opportunity by using Support Staffordshire’s ‘Role Search’ function.

You can contact Support Staffordshire on 0300 777 1207 or via info@supportstaffordshire.org.uk

Help with a daily task

Help with a daily task

Driving someone to a medical appointment, offering to take out the bins, or even walking a neighbours dog can all make someone’s day!

Strike up conversation

Strike up conversation

Going out of your way to say ‘hello’ to someone or giving someone a big smile can make someone’s day. Strike up a conversation.

Help a carer

Help a carer

Thousands of unpaid carers work really hard to care for their loved ones. Helping a carer to take time out, even a short break, can do the world of good.
