Digital inclusion

How are we ensuring inclusion of citizens in #DigitialStaffordshire?
People’s level of experience with ICT and computing in general can be vastly different. We have various projects in place to help anyone be included in our digital offer.
IT buddies
Staffordshire Libraries have volunteers who can assist anyone with computers, known as IT Buddies. There are volunteers across many different libraries in the county, and can help with things like:
- Applying for a Blue Badge (Parking concessions for the disabled)
- General support in using computers
People who wish to get help from an IT buddy need to book a place, and can do so on the Staffordshire County Council website.
You can also volunteer at your local library.
Computer classes
Many libraries also run computer classes via the Staffordshire Adult and Community Learning Service. You can find out more about what’s on offer here.
Computer access
All libraries (including the travelling libraries) have computers available for free use. You can use them to access the internet, email, and use installed programs including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access).
