New Staffordshire volunteer platform launches

We are all #DoingOurBit to make Staffordshire a better place to live and work. Whether we are doing small things, like picking up litter to help keep our streets clean, or big things, like formal volunteering to help our local communities.
The Doing Our Bit initiative aims to encourage all residents of Staffordshire to think about what one more thing they can do to help themselves, their families and their local communities.
A new Staffordshire volunteer platform launches this week to make finding local volunteering opportunities easier than ever.
Staffordshire County Council and Support Staffordshire have joined forces to create a digital solution that makes it easy for local volunteers and voluntary groups to connect.
Using the popular, Do-It.org volunteer website they have created a ‘Staffordshire Only’ area of the website called “Do It – Staffordshire”.
The system also enables local voluntary organisations, mutual aid groups and charities to digitally share their opportunities for free and manage all the volunteering applications they receive.
You can sign up as a volunteer, or an organisation on Do It Staffordshire.
If you would like any advice and guidance about volunteering or setting up your own community group, you can contact Support Staffordshire at info@supportstaffordshire.org.uk.
