O365: our emails are now in the cloud!

The Office 365 project is proud to announce that we have successfully migrated 7,000 user and shared mailboxes into the cloud. It has been quite a task, but we continue our journey to move to a fully Smart Working environment.

Thank you to all the services involved in the project team to make this happen including colleagues in ICT, Digital, TSU, Information Governance, Organisational Development and Audit.

Also, a huge thank you to our O365 Champions for supporting the project and assisting colleagues.

We hope to reap the benefits of increased reliability, enterprise level security, reduced costs and increased flexibility and scalability which you can expect from the Office 365 suite.

Our Office 365 journey has only just begun though. We can now start to concentrate on making your emails, calendars and eventually other applications more accessible from mobiles and non-SCC devices as well as moving our home drives into OneDrive and the benefits of improved collaboration.

As Churchill said after the victory at El Alamein:

“This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning.”
