In partnership with Microsoft UK and Staffordshire University, we hosted the very first Microsoft Digital Skills Live on Thursday 24th May.
We re-opened the Grade II* listed Shire Hall which turned out to be the perfect traditional backdrop for this digital event.
The young ones showed us their coding skills, business owners brushed up on their knowledge of the cloud, guests entered a world of virtual reality and students discussed their apprenticeship possibilities!
The aim of the event was to offer taster sessions on the Discover, Apply and Improve sections of the Digital Skills Programme. These sessions catered for anyone from age 7+.
As well as everything Microsoft brought along, Staffordshire University were also at the event showcasing their Game Design course options, VR technology (this was a huge hit with some of the school children!) and apprentice options.
We also took to opportunity to share the benefits of our digital offer, including our myStaffs app and newly relaunched Staffordshire Connects website.
The event was a big success with a variety of people, ages and skills coming through the doors to take a look and attend sessions. If the future of Staffordshire is digital, then we're definitely on the right path.
We would like to say a big thank you to our partners Microsoft UK Education and Staffordshire University and also a huge thanks to anyone that came along. We hope to bring it back to Staffordshire soon! If you didn't get chance to pop in on the day, view the short timelapse of the venue before the guests arrived!
